Breckenridge Winter Activities

Winter is always on our minds. And, the abundance of winter activities in Breckenridge boggles the mind. Of course, Alpine skiing and snowboarding are going to rank as the top choices for winter activities. However, there is certainly a lot more to do than just hitting the world-class ski slopes. Consider the following for other alternatives to skiing: snowshoeing, tubing, sleigh rides, ice-sculpturing, snowmobiling, winter coaster, dog sledding, and more. For "off-the-mountain" activities consider cross-country skiing, ice-skating, snow biking, etc. If any of these winter activities interest, feel free to contact our concierge with questions.

Freeway

This is the most well-known resort terrain park at Breckenridge.  This is where we see the pros and Olympians play.  Sometimes on national TV. Freeway Terrain park has four giant jumps, plenty of rails and boxes, along with a 22’ superpipe for extra measure. If you’re looking for major air time, big spins, or just want to watch some pros boost out of the pipe, Freeway has you covered.  The park's layout and design is regularly changed to keep things interesting for the world's best skiers and snowboarders.

Back in 2008, Breckenridge added a new terrain park on Peak 8 called Park Lane. This area services intermediate riders. Park Lane has almost 4,000 feet of rails...tops for the industry. To accomplish this, the ski resort has added an extensive snowmaking system to ensure there is enough snow to mold and shape the park's jump features.

Highway 9

It all starts somewhere and the Highway 9 terrain park on Peak 9 is our entry-level terrain park. With small jumps, rails, and boxes, Highway 9 is the perfect place to work on your spins and slides.

Frontier

Located on Peak 9, Frontier is a small park similar to Bonanza. Frontier has a combination of moderate jumps and boxes to help you get your foot in the door of terrain parks.
